Effective 6 August 2026. Please read this notice carefully. It sets out the risks of trading and the limits of everything published on theoilmoney.com, and it forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
Risk disclosure
Trading futures, options, forex and other leveraged instruments carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose more than your initial investment. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Only risk capital should ever be used for trading — money you can afford to lose entirely without affecting your financial security or your way of life. Nothing on this website is a solicitation or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument.
We are not a registered advisor
The Oil Money, Scott Morris, and their associates and employees do not hold themselves out as a Commodity Trading Advisor, an investment adviser, or a broker-dealer, and are not registered as any of those.
All information published here is general and impersonal. It is not adapted to any individual’s portfolio, objectives or circumstances, and it must not be treated as specific investment advice. Do not act on it without advice from your own licensed professional, who can assess your particular needs. Failing to seek personally tailored advice could lead you to act against your own interests and to lose capital.
Educational purpose
All content on this site exists for educational, research and informational purposes. The Oil Money does not make buy, sell or hold recommendations. Any strategies, charts, patterns or examples shown are illustrative and are not advisory recommendations.
Performance information
Where this website or its affiliates present performance figures, please note the distinction between two different things:
- Independently verified trading records. Some strategy performance figures referenced by The Oil Money and by Sterling Capital Technologies are actual trading results reported through an independent third-party verification service such as Myfxbook. Verification confirms that the trades occurred as reported. It is not a prediction, not a guarantee, and not a promise that any account will perform similarly.
- Hypothetical or simulated results. Any backtested, modelled or illustrative figure — including any example account balance or projection — is clearly identified as such and is subject to the notice below.
CFTC Rule 4.41 — hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to any figure discussed or published on this website. No system or methodology has ever been developed that can guarantee profits or ensure freedom from losses.
Testimonials and examples
Any testimonial or example result published on this site reflects one individual’s experience and is not typical. Individual results depend on background, capital, discipline and circumstances, and no one should expect to replicate another person’s outcome.
Material connection and affiliate disclosure
The Oil Money is a corporate affiliate of Sterling Capital Technologies and may receive a referral fee when a visitor opens an account through a link on this website. This site may also contain advertisements, sponsored content, paid insertions or other affiliate links, and any such content will be identified.
We state this plainly because it is a material connection, and because our common ownership raises the standard of disclosure we owe you rather than lowering it. You are entitled to weigh this relationship when you read anything we publish about Sterling Capital Technologies or its strategies. We endorse only what we believe, on our own assessment, is worth endorsing — but you should verify every claim, statistic and figure independently rather than taking ours on trust. That is exactly the standard we ask you to apply to anyone writing about trading online, including us.
How the strategies are accessed
Sterling Capital Technologies does not trade, execute orders, manage, or hold client funds. It facilitates a connection between an account you open and control at an independent broker and the strategies offered. Your funds remain in your own segregated brokerage account, in your name, at all times. Any decision to open, fund, connect or close such an account is yours alone.
Publisher’s exclusion
The Oil Money relies on the “publisher’s exclusion” from the definition of “investment adviser” under Section 202(a)(11)(D) of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related state securities laws, which excludes publishers of bona fide publications of general and regular circulation offering impersonal advice to the public. To the extent any content here could be deemed investment advice, it is impersonal and is not tailored to the needs of any specific person.
Accuracy and liability
Opinion, commentary, news, research and analysis on this website are provided as general market commentary and carry no guarantees. We take reasonable measures to ensure accuracy, and content may change at any time without notice, but we make no warranty as to accuracy, timeliness, completeness or suitability for any purpose.
Use of this information is entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Oil Money, Scott Morris and their associates and employees are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including any loss of profit or trading loss, arising from your use of or reliance on this website.
